Self-care for peripheral neuropathy
Self-care for foot neuropathy
Here are some simple things that you can do at home that can help you feel better and accelerate initial treatment progress, especially in the first 2-3 weeks.
- Soak feet in warm water for 5-10 minutes, especially in the evening.
- After drying feet, rub soles on carpet or towel to increase blood flow.
- Gently use a fine hairbrush on the soles to stimulate fine nerve fibres.
- Go for 2-3 short walks a day. If you have better mobility, try walking for 10-20 minutes.
Self-care for hand neuropathy
- Soak hands in warm water, then dry with a towel.
- Rub palms together briskly for 60 seconds to build friction.
